Mark’s numerous writing credits include numerous audio stories for Big Finish and the DWM strip “Space Invaders” which ran in Issue 484. He’s also been one of the magazine’s editorial assistants since issue 448.

David (whose  numerous comics credits span far more than Doctor Who and is a dedicated archivist of the very best in comic art) is a long-time creator on the DWM comic strip since 2011, often working with Mike Collins as inker, but “Highgate Horror” marks his first pencil work on the Doctor Who strip – and Mark is full of praise for his work.

“I am in awe of the work David Roach has performed on the pencils and inks,” he says. “He’s a true alchemist of comic art.

Doctor Who: The Eye of Torment - Final Cover“It’s a real privilege not only to contribute to the ongoing DWM strip, but to work with such talented artists.”

David’s work for Doctor Who Magazine also includes covers for their numerous strip collectors and the next – The Eye of Torment – is officially released on 12th November, but available to order now from bookshops and online stores.

The story, set on a space station in close orbit around the sun, features the Twelfth Doctor’s first DWM strip, written by Scott Gray and drawn by Martin Geraghty (inked by David), which featured one of the creepiest Doctor Who comic strip monsters ever, the Umbra, creatures capable of devouring minds. It was a fantastic debut for the Twelfth Doctor on all fronts, with a superb script – do check out the collection!

Oh, and DWM also features yet another gem of a humour strip by Lew Stringer on its as ever entertaining letters pages. Great stuff!
