The latest issue of Comix Reader (Issue 6) is on sale now in comic shops and other outlets, featuring a cover by Richard Cowdry and strips by a huge assortment of artists and writers, including Lord Hurk, Ralph Kidson, Paul O’Connell, Bernadette Bentley and many more.
The Comix Reader, which made the 2015 Selection for best Alternative Comic at the Festival de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême, is a British comics newspaper inspired by the free spirit of 1960’s underground comix and early comics newspapers like Comic Cuts and Ally Sloper’s Half Holiday. It presents a unique blend of established talent, new discoveries, outsider art and unsung heroes of the art form. It’s contributors are a rogues’ gallery of the Britain’s funniest, edgiest and weirdest cartoonists.
The A3, 24-page tabloid costs £1 per issue and is sold at music festivals, comedy gigs, in pubs, bookshops, comic and record shops, on the beach and on the street.
