Rufus Dayglo and Dan Cornwell revealed as artists on new Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth game

Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth - Box Cover Art Osprey Games, a division of Osprey Publishing, has revealed 2000AD artists Rufus Dayglo and Dan Cornwell as the artists on its upcoming Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth card game.

As we previously reported, Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth, set to launch early next year, uses the core mechanics of Osprey’s bestselling 2017 release, The Lost Expedition, from designer Peer Sylvester.

Osprey Games is the dedicated games division of Osprey Publishing (part of Bloomsbury Publishing plc) and publishes a wide range of wargames, card games, and board games. Launched in 2014, the company has produced an array of critically acclaimed titles, including Frostgrave and The Lost Expedition.

Featuring competitive, co-operative and solo player modes, Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth is an immersive sci-fi western, in which players must lead a team of judges against dinosaurs, mutants, and the Cursed Earth itself in search of an object of immense power before it falls into the wrong hands. As they scour the wastelands, the team will encounter a host of iconic 2000AD characters that will push their resources and abilities to their limits. On an impossible journey through radioactive hell, can even the judges survive the Cursed Earth?

Rufus Dayglo (2000AD, Tank Girl, Judge Dredd Megazine) and Dan Cornwell (2000AD, Rok of the Reds) have been working on new commissioned, full-colour art for the game for a while now, but have been sworn to secrecy about the project, which has until recently been using a “dummy” box cover art by Dave Taylor.

Rufus will provide the game’s cover art as well as character and adventure card art, while Dan, whose credits also include work on titles such as FuturequakeDogbreath, and 100% Biodegradable, will provide art for character, adventure, and landscape cards.

“Rufus and Dan have been a joy to work with, bringing that classic Dredd feel to the game,” said Game Developer Duncan Molloy. “I think fans of Dredd’s world will love what they’ve done with the place.”

“Rufus is well-known to our legions of fans and Dan is already making a name for himself drawing the new adventures of the ultimate lawman of the future,” noted a spokesman for 2000AD.

“They’ve both brought new life to some of the classic locations and characters we all know and love from the past 41 years!”
