Both attendees and comic fans alike have sung the praises of this year’s Lawless: A Celebration programme, homaging classic British comics – and now there’s a unique chance to bid on a signed copy, all in aid of the charity, CALM.
Fans and creators of 2000AD and British comics flocked to Lawless: A Celebration last weekend and The77 Publications are auctioning one signed programme in aid of the convention’s chosen charity on their public Facebook group.
All proceeds will be added to the £822 already raised for CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably, who are taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling s***, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.
The 16-page programme contains a nine page commissioned strip by a dozen different artists: Brendon Wright, Steve Bull, Mick McMahon, Clint Langley, Jeremy Dunn, Steve Austin, Ian Stopforth, Lew Stringer, Andrew Sawyers, Ben Macleod and Darren Stephens.
But the signed programme isn’t the only thing the final winning bid will net, not by a long chalk! Generous independent comic creators have added other items as bidding has increased, standing at just under £180 this morning.
Jo Heeley has added this familiar looking fellow, which she made herself …
Dave Heeley says the auction winner will get their name in the editorial for the first issue of THIS COMIC IS HAUNTED, out in September! Get bidding. “And I will give a character in the script I’m writing now, their name (first or surname, dealer’s choice) also.”
Colin Maxwell has donated some comic character illustrations…
Who knows what might also be added if bidding reaches over £200, or more?
Bidding ends on Saturday 4th June 2022 at 10.00pm and will only be accepted on this thread in The77 Comic group on Facebook. P&P is included in the bid.
The winner will be notified on Sunday 5th June.
