Destination Star Trek returns to Birmingham for another spectacular weekend celebrating the world of Star Trek at the end of this month, over 25th – 27th October 2019 at NECBirmingham.
Featuring a huge range of guests, it’s an opportunity to join thousands of fellow fans in meeting some your favourite actors; visit the event’s prop and costume museums to see genuine screen used items; catch a talk on one of four stages from the guests and other guest speakers; show off your best uniform or cosplay; browse the selection of licensed merchandise… and so so much more.
Among the many guests, a highlight is surely Sir Patrick Stewart, who will be making a very special appearance on Saturday 26th October to talk about Star Trek: Picard, which premiers 24th January 2020 on Amazon Prime.
Sir Patrick will also be taking part in a special presentation on Saturday morning, with the exact time to be confirmed next week. Tickets for this are available now and each ticket includes an exclusive DST Limited Edition Star Trek: Picard poster. (This presentation is included in all Admiral and Captains packages).
Comic artist J.K. Wodward will also be at the event, an accomplished illustrator whose projects have included IDW Publishing’s blockbuster Assimilation2, the eight-issue Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover miniseries, IDW’s acclaimed adaptation of Star Trek: The City on the Edge of Forever: The Harlan Ellison Original Teleplay, and the award-winning Star Trek:Mirror Broken mini series.
He’s also provided covers for almost every Star Trek series published through IDW, including the Star Trek/Green Lantern crossover with DC Comics.
Woodward started his professional comic book career back in 2003 with Peter David’s Fallen Angel and went on to work on many titles for such companies as BOOM! Studios, Archaia, Dark Horse and Marvel. Among the titles to which he has contributed are X-Men Origins: Beast, Star Trek, Mars Attacks!, CSI: New York and more.
As if the great guest line-up wasn’t enough, Destination Star Trek also love bringing fans new and interesting displays that help reflect their love for Star Trek. This year is no different as it will include several special, custom built LEGO displays.
Make sure you check them out at the LEGO Trek Zone at the event.
