Wicked Comics has announced its first guests for this year’s Malta Comic Convention in December – and the First Wave includes a number of British as well as international guests, plus some great up and coming talents from the Mediterranean island.
This year, Malta Comic Con will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary and it is supported by Valletta 2018. During this jam-packed weekend, various local artists will be joining the ranks with our foreign guests.
Heading to Malta Comic Con 2018 – Boo Cook
The 10th edition of the Malta Comic Con takes place at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre, Ta Qali. and announced as part of the “First Wave” are Katya Azzopardi, Kimberley Azzopardi, Sean Azzopardi, Sarah Cauchi, John Cascun, Boo Cook, Simon Davis, Dean Fenech, Martin Griffiths, Hal Laren, Peter Magro, Arina Mariunina, John Royle, Yasmin Sheikh, El Torres, Mario Torrisi, Lee Townsend and Rebecca Zammit, plus top cosplayers Florencia Sofen and Tasha.

Some of the returning local artists also include Joseph Bugeja, Audrienne Degiorgio, Steffi Venturi and Shawn Cauchi. Katya Azzopardi, Kimberly Azzopardi, Rebecca Zammit, Sarah Cauchi, John Cascun and Arina Mariunina are all emerging new names on the vibrant Malta comic scene.

In the coming weeks, Wicked Comics will also announce some of their exciting panels and events that attendees can look forward to.
Having been to this event back in 2015 (sadly, I can’t make it this year which is a shame because the full line up is looking terrific!) I would definitely say that this is an event well worth a visit – and the added attraction of some winter sun is surely a bonus!

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
