Titan Comics is releasing a new collection of White Trash in April 2015, a comic strip by Gordon Rennie (Judge Dredd, Dept. of Monsterology, Robbie Burns: Witch Hunter) and New Zealand artist, the late Martin Emond (Accident Man, Lobo) first published in Blast! magazine back in 1991.
A satirical journey through the US, the strip is one of Gordon’s first published works and was initially collected by British publisher Tundra, alongside “Sherlock Holmes in the Curious Case of the Vanishing Villain”, painted by Woodrow Phoenix.Strips also featured in Heavy Metal.
Join slacker surfer dude Dean and The King, legendary gold-laméd rock’n’roller, as they take their pink Cadillac into the soft, white supremacist, Evangelical brimstone underbelly of the good ol’ US of A!
“White Trash is a rock and roll Americana road trip that celebrates hero worship, mindless violence, cool kitsch, low-rent celebrity, and the generation gap with guns, grenades and gore, the only comic ever made that is equal parts Welcome to the Jungle, Bubba Ho-Tep, Apocalypse Now, Deliverance, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Natural Born Killers,” enthused James Sine over on Comic Book Resources when Heroe for Sale re-published the strip in 2004. “It is truly a one of a kind comic reading experience.
“… White Trash doesn’t mind being pointless, offensive and completely unsubtle, in fact it revels in being everything that smarter comics are not. And it’s also pure, gorgeous, genius fun, thanks to Gordon Rennie’s over the top writing and Martin Emond’s spectacular painted art.”
Cram-packed with moronic humour, madcap violence and glorious painted illustration, don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind slice of anarchic Americana. Lock, load and buckle up for the greatest road buddy comic ever conceived!
• White Trash, a 128-page hard cover collection, hits comic stores on 8th April 2015 and is available to pre-order now using Diamond code DEC141681. More info: http://titan-comics.com/c/211-white-trash
