A colour separation from Bryan Talbot’s critically-acclaimed Tale of One Bad Rat, plus art by Graham Dury for VIZ and a Bone image by Jeff Smith are just some of the items on offer in the Lakes International Comic Art Festival’s latest auction
The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is to auction some fantastic pieces of original comic art in an effort to raise funds after the loss of thousands of pounds worth of giclees, prints, tables, books and other equipment in the devastating floods that hit Kendal last December.
The Festival has been helping others in Kendal affected by the floods that wreaked havoc on the North West, joining Fanfare UK who donated 100 fleece blankets and sleeping bags with comic art on them to kids after the storms – but now need help to replace lost items.

Other art is from published comics and graphic novels and has been generously donated by the artists.
“Our offices were severely damaged by the flooding in Kendal last month,” says Festival Director Julie Tait. “We lost thousands of pounds worth of giclees, prints, tables, books and other equipment. As a small festival with big ambitions this was the last thing we needed.”
Auction organiser Peter Kessler has set up a special micro site for the auction, with all items being offered for sale via eBay. Simply click on any item on the gallery page, and you’ll be taken directly to its Ebay item page.
“We really don’t want to see these works go, as they are absolutely gorgeous,” says Peter. “But fund-raising comes first for a charity like ours – and we know collectors will look after them well. So please be generous!
